As Avivo’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), I am dedicated to leading our organisation in fostering a culture of active citizenship, where everyone is supported to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their community. With over 20 years of experience working alongside people and families, I have seen first-hand the power of connection and community in making life meaningful.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to developing person-centred approaches, such as coaching, that empower individuals to flourish. My focus is on creating organisational environments that are purpose-driven and liberating, enabling people to contribute fully.
I am also passionate about driving systemic change in welfare reform and community development, advocating for a better world for all. My background in social innovation, strategic planning, business development, operational management, and governance informs my leadership approach, as I strive to create lasting positive impact.
Lynsey McDonnell
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Avivo, I am committed to guiding our organisation through strategic and financial leadership that balances pragmatism with heart. With over 20 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant across community services, health, media, and financial sectors, I bring a wealth of financial expertise paired with a deep understanding of the impact our work has on the community.
I believe in transparency, collaboration, and the power of working together to drive systemic change in our sector. My role includes leading through change, stewarding strategic direction, and advocating for policies that enable long-term sustainability and growth. I also oversee investment management, risk and governance, and ensure robust financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
My leadership extends across board and committee memberships, project sponsorship, and delivering on key organisational initiatives. I am passionate about ensuring our financial practices support our mission and contribute to the broader social good.


Emer Hickey
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Avivo, I am dedicated to leading and supporting our organisation in creating a culture, systems, and processes that build the capability of all colleagues to enrich the lives of the people and communities we support. With over a decade of experience at Avivo, I have been instrumental in driving strategic design, contemporary governance, cultural leadership, and empowering operational relationships.
My journey at Avivo has been marked by a commitment to enhancing our digital presence, improving customer engagement, and fostering a people-first approach. I have successfully led a variety of initiatives all aimed at providing better services within the disability, aged, and mental health sectors.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Applied Social Studies in Social Care from Ireland and have continuously sought professional development through coaching and feedback from colleagues. My leadership style is characterised by curiosity, trust, and a focus on building capability and confidence in others.
I am passionate about making a positive impact through strategic initiatives and am always open to connecting with like-minded professionals who share a commitment to social care and community support.
